Japan tries to discover who uploaded the maritime video incindent

Seems like the information revolution has really taken one step ahead, and governments are starting to really find it hard to keep information a secret. I won't talk here about the famous Iraq related revelations, but instead choose to focus on a different story, which emphasies how global is this change in human culture. A  report tells that "Japanese prosecutors on Tuesday seized user records from Google in an investigation into the leak of a video on YouTube showing a tense maritime incident that sparked a row with China". This is the aforementioned video - Another interesting aspect of this story, is that according to the report, the person who uploaded the video was smart enough to do it from an internet cafe. Now let us just hope for him he remembered to do everything in the handling of the file, from the source and in the uploading process, in a similar manner.  And one last remark: although it is commonly accepted that your own eyes do not dec

photo editing in the "pre industrial" age

I ran across this cool video , displaying the hard and vicious life of the people who worked in digital photos editing in the mid-80's. Although the movie portrays the life of soviet software engineers, it seems like a rather truthful depiction of everyone's life in the era before Photoshop, CorelDraw and followers like Picasa and MsPaint entered our lives and made them so much more easier
