a kind of summary of 2009

As 2009 comes to its end, it is time to take a look back at the year -

• Google Zeitgeist tells of the ways the internet was searched; 
• Cosmos magazine tells of important scientific discoveries made  (the really cool one, in my mind, is the geological discovery of a recent geological crack which has appeared in northeastern Ethiopia, and might, just might, crack the African continent in two, sometime in the future);
• CBS News brings a very lovely and comprehensive summary of 2009; 

and lets wrap the year, trying to solve BBC's quiz of 2009.
